What is Plasma Fibroblast?

Fibroblast Plasma Therapy is a skin tightening procedure that is generating a lot of buzz in the medical aesthetics industry. Fibroblast is an absolute revolutionary procedure which requires zero surgery. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that is designed to tighten and lift the skin, shrinking excess skin, crow's feet, bags and wrinkles. It delivers tiny arcs of plasma created by an electrical discharge via a “plasma pen” to the skin, shrinking the surface and tightening the underlying tissues while stimulating huge amount of collagen production. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.

How does Plasma Fibroblast work?

It works by restoring collagen production and firm skin in the treated area without the invasive measures of surgery. Plasma fibroblast therapy uses a plasma pen device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin. The plasma tip doesn't directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The current creates tiny holes or micro-injuries in the skin's epidermal layer.

How Plasma Fibroblast works

Is plasma skin tightening safe?

Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician.

Are the results permanent?

Given the Plasma Pen Skin Tightening procedure is safe and affordable with minimal social downtime, a second treatment may be performed twelve weeks after the initial treatment. The results are permanent although it does not stop your natural aging process. You should see results for years as you would with plastic surgery.

Is fibroblast better than fillers, Ultherapy/HIFU/Thermage/RF and Lasers?

If you wish for a longer lasting effect, then Fibroblast is the way to go. Unlike the effects of fillers which last several months, Plasma Pen Fibroblast effects stick around for up to 3 years, although more than one treatment may still be necessary depending on how much excess skin you have and your your desired outcome. It works much better than Ultrasound(HIFU) or RF(Thermage) or Lasersthat only heats up the epidermal layers of skin. Plasma physically shrinks the excess skin on the surface causing carbonization(little dots) without damaging the skin. The thermal energy from the plasma is able to signal into the deeper dermis layers to stimulate the fibroblast cells that regenerates and produce collagen even though only minimal epidermis surface is affected by the crusting/scabbing. Hence the name Plasma Fibroblast.

Are plasma pens painful?

Plasma Fibroblast is a 100% non invasive procedure that only affects around 0.3mm of the top epidermal level of the skin surface which is even lesser to cosmetic eyebrow embroidery / microblading which is at 0.8mm. It is virtually painless as tropical anaesthetic is applied on the area treated. During the procedure the patient's may feel some discomfort, not actual pain, depending on the area being treated on the face/body.

Can plasma pen leave scars?

As mention above the skin depth affected is only 0.3mm therefore, it is not deep enough to have any risk of scarring. The majority of people who undergo plasma pen skin tightening will not get any scarring. Unless if the treatment is performed by untrained personnel resulting in the skin being over-treated it will then lose too much pigmentation, even on a light skin type and the skin can become hyper-pigmented. However, this is very rare.

What are the side effects of plasma fibroblast?

Possible side effects—even when the device is used properly—include some swelling of the treated area, redness (particularly in the upper eyelids), hyperpigmentation (spots), ultraviolet (UV) sensitivity so you have to put on sunblock to protect your skin at least 12 weeks after treatment, skin peeling and crusting which scabs off in 5 - 7 days. You may also pre-treat your skin by applying Arbutin or Vitamin C around 2-4 weeks before your appointment if you are naturally darker skin to help correct any existing pigmentation issues and suppress the future likelihood of any issues ever occuring.

What can plasma fibroblast treat?

Pretty much any area with excess skin can be treated.

Plasma fibroblast is extremely safe, non invasive and versatile to treat many issues for the skin.

• Acne scars / Surgical Scars

• Pigmentations & Age Spots
• Any Wrinkles or Loose/Saggy Skin

How many treatment sessions are needed?

It depends on how loose the treated area is and your personal expectations. It is best to book for a consultation to get a better advise on the number of sessions needed. On average 2 treatments are recommended.

Post Treatment After Care?

Use ice pack to cold compress the area every hour in the next 4 -5 hours post treatment to help release the heat from the plasma that is deep into the skin dermis and before you go to bed. Avoid direct water spraying on the treated for the first 3 days. Try to keep the area dry, if the area gets after shower, simply blot dry. Just wipe the area gently with clean water on a cotton pad. On the 4th day, you can start using  gentle soap/cleanser to wash your face and start applying after care cream twice a day for the next 2 weeks. You may resume your daily skin care routine when all the scabs/crust has fallen off. Nothing harsh and no scrubs for 2 weeks.

Can you wear makeup or put skin care products after fibroblast?

Do not use makeup or use your skin care products after the treatment, as it is generally not sterile. First 5-7 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the antiseptic product and aftercare cream, applying it softly to the treated area.

Who can perform plasma fibroblast?

Plasma Fibroblast Treatment is a procedure that can only be performed by a specifically trained and qualified specialist therapist. Using approved equipment to shrink the skin using a sterile disposable probe that does not touch the skin.

Does fibroblast work on stretch marks?

Fibroblast Plasma Skin Lift is effective not only to get rid of stretch marks but also for skin tightening. It is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure performed to rejuvenate the texture of our skin.

What do fibroblast cells do?

A fibroblast is a type of cell that is responsible for making the extracellular matrix and collagen. Together, this extracellular matrix and collagen form the structural framework of tissues in animals and plays an important role in tissue repair. Fibroblasts are the main connective tissue cells present in the body.
